Datadog is now available on Anthropic's Claude Marketplace, letting joint customers buy its Agent Observability product directly through Claude. According to Datadog, the listing requires no new technical integration and is open today to customers with US-based entities.

Key points
  • Datadog Agent Observability is available on Anthropic's Claude Marketplace.
  • The product monitors, traces and evaluates agents and AI applications built on Claude.
  • Customers can apply a portion of committed Anthropic spend, and the contract stays with Datadog.
  • No new technical integration is required, according to Datadog.
  • Availability is limited to customers with US-based entities for now, with expansion planned.

What Datadog is offering on the marketplace

At launch, the Claude Marketplace offers Datadog Agent Observability. Datadog says the product lets teams monitor, trace and evaluate the agents and AI applications they build on Claude, so that failures and quality regressions surface before they reach end users.

The company frames the listing as a response to a pace problem. Teams building on Claude are shipping AI agents and applications faster than many organizations can establish standard practices for monitoring them, according to Datadog. As agents move into production, teams need visibility into their costs, reliability and output quality.

A step beyond existing Claude monitoring

Datadog and Anthropic already have a working relationship at the product level. Joint customers use Datadog to monitor their Claude usage in several ways:

  • Tracing Claude API requests
  • Bringing Anthropic cost data into Cloud Cost Management
  • Sending Claude Code telemetry

Datadog describes the marketplace listing as the next step. It extends the relationship from "Datadog monitors your Claude usage" to "you can buy Datadog directly through Claude." The company stresses that the listing does not change how either product works and does not require any new technical integration. It only makes the combination easier to put to use.

How purchasing works

Customers have two routes to buy Datadog Agent Observability through the marketplace. They can fill out the sales form on the Datadog tile within Claude Marketplace, or talk to their Anthropic account team about adding Agent Observability.

They can then apply a portion of their committed Anthropic spend toward the purchase, so no new budget line is required, according to Datadog. The contract and product relationship stay directly with Datadog. The marketplace, in Datadog's words, simplifies discovery and invoicing. Companies that already buy Datadog directly are unaffected, and their existing relationship and process stay the same.

Availability and what it means for customers

The listing is available to customers with US-based entities today, and Datadog says it plans to expand availability over time. Existing Claude customers are directed to their Anthropic account team, while Datadog customers with questions about the marketplace should contact their Datadog account team. Organizations new to Datadog can sign up for a 14-day free trial.

For teams already committed to Anthropic spending, the change mainly lowers the procurement hurdle for adding monitoring to their Claude-based agents. Because part of an existing commitment can be used, the purchase may not require separate budget approval, though the contract itself remains with Datadog.
