What the deal involves
According to Doppel, the acquisition brings PropRise's two co-founders into its engineering team as the company scales its agentic platform. Diei and Krager are former Stripe employees and Y Combinator alumni. They founded PropRise in 2023 and, according to the release, grew it to high six figures in ARR.
Doppel says their experience developing complex technical products will help it accelerate new solutions across its SED platform. The company adds that it is investing in highly technical, founder-minded engineers who can move quickly from identifying hard problems to building products that solve them. The release does not disclose financial terms of the deal or describe what PropRise's product did.
What Doppel and its leaders said
Rahul Madduluri, co-founder and CTO of Doppel, said the company has built an engineering team that thrives on solving hard problems and that the two founders bring "the exact kind of founder mentality and builder experience we want at Doppel." He added that as AI transforms social engineering at breakneck speed, it is vital to challenge assumptions and adapt quickly.
Diei, who was co-founder and CEO of PropRise, said the pair have spent the last three years innovating at the frontier of agentic AI. In his words, they see "an enormous opportunity to bring that experience to a new generation of agentic defense solutions" as cybersecurity threats grow more complex.
Doppel's platform and recent growth
Doppel says its agentic AI platform unifies three areas: Digital Risk Protection, Human Risk Management and Email Security. The stated aim is to detect and connect threats across channels, disrupt the infrastructure behind attacks and strengthen employee resilience against evolving tactics. According to the company, every signal flows through a shared Threat Graph, so a threat seen in one place strengthens defenses elsewhere.
The company describes the acquisition as part of a year of growth. In 2026, it says, it expanded its global presence in Japan and Toronto, introduced new capabilities across its SED platform and surpassed 300 employees. Doppel lists Bessemer Venture Partners and Andreessen Horowitz among its backers, along with strategic investors including CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz. It was also named to Fast Company's 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list and to the 2026-2027 Fortune Cyber 60 for the second consecutive year.
What it means
The deal is primarily a talent acquisition: Doppel is adding two founders with experience building a company to its engineering ranks as it develops its agentic defense products. Based on the company's statements, the focus is on speeding up new solutions within the SED platform rather than on a new product launch. Details on specific features or timelines were not provided.
