- The agreement is the first major announced partnership since AMBR’s transformation.
AI agents to be tested in financial workflows
The agreement was announced by Michael Wu, founder and CEO of AMBR, and Deng Chao, CEO of HashKey Capital, in Hong Kong at the Capital Next: Allocation, Reimagined event held as part of Hong Kong FinTech Week. According to the announcement, the partnership combines AMBR’s AI agent capabilities and financial infrastructure with HashKey Capital’s institutional investment expertise and global asset management experience.
The two companies will examine how task-oriented AI systems can be integrated into financial workflows. Potential areas include investment research, operational process automation and institutional client services in a rapidly changing market environment.
According to the announcement, the aim is to explore how AI agents can perform complex, multi-step tasks. The companies will examine the technology not merely as an information layer, but as one more deeply embedded in day-to-day operations.
Human oversight and limited autonomy
The collaboration is based on three core principles derived from AMBR’s experience developing its own AI agents. These are human oversight, clearly defined limits on autonomy and maintaining control over data.
Deng Chao said the financial and digital asset sectors are rapidly moving from informational AI toward task-oriented AI agents that can operate continuously in data-intensive environments. The CEO of HashKey Capital said Hong Kong provides an appropriate regulatory and market environment for establishing high standards in safe and high-impact financial technology.
Michael Wu, AMBR’s CEO, said AI agents are moving from answering questions toward actually performing work. He said trust is particularly important in finance, meaning agents must understand the workflow, operate within clear boundaries and remain under human oversight.
Joint products and first major partnership announced since AMBR’s transformation
The companies will also collaborate on product development. As part of this, AMBR clients will gain access to a broader range of HashKey Capital products and services. According to the announcement, this partnership represents HashKey Capital’s early strategic involvement in AI agent technology.
For AMBR, the collaboration is its first significant announced partnership since its business transformation. The companies regard the agreement as an initial milestone and have promised further developments as the joint initiatives progress.
AMBR develops specialized AI agents for finance, business operations and growth. Its flagship products include Ambre, a personal finance agent, TIA, a trading intelligence agent, and MIA, a marketing AI agent. According to HashKey Capital’s announcement, it has invested in more than 400 innovative ventures since 2018, focusing on digital assets, blockchain technology and emerging technologies.
