Higgsfield has introduced Mangaka, a tool that turns a short idea or a finished script into manga, comics and webtoons. The service plans the story, creates the characters and then illustrates the chapters one after another.

Key points
  • Mangaka creates comic-style stories from a short idea or a PDF or DOCX script.
  • Users can choose black-and-white or color manga, comics and webtoons.
  • A project can contain up to 30 chapters, with multiple aspect ratios and chapter lengths.
  • Panels and pages can still be edited after generation.
  • Finished work can be exported as a PDF, CBZ, PNG or webtoon.

From an idea to a finished chapter

Mangaka is one of the studios in Higgsfield's creative production platform. Users can start with a short description or by uploading a PDF or DOCX script of up to 25 MB. The tool develops the plot, creates the characters, settings and props, and then produces the chapters.

During the first stage, the series plan is completed in about five minutes. It includes the plot, genres, mood, episode titles, characters, settings and important props. The plan can be reviewed and revised before continuing.

Characters, settings and props can be managed separately in the Cast & World interface. Characters can be created from a description or a photo. The system uses the approved appearance in subsequent chapters to keep the character recognizable.

Formats, settings and editing

Mangaka supports black-and-white and color manga, comics and webtoons. The available aspect ratios are 3:4, 9:16 and 2:3. A project can contain up to 30 chapters, while a chapter can be short at 20 pages, medium at 30 pages or long at 40 pages.

Dialogue can be set to 14 languages: English, Kazakh, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, Arabic and Hindi. The language can also be changed after generation begins, and the system translates the dialogue and reinserts the text into the speech bubbles.

Users can choose between Auto and Manual modes. In Auto mode, the tool creates the characters and chapters independently. In Manual mode, they can be generated separately and every step can be reviewed. Generation can be paused or stopped at any time. Completed chapters can be read immediately, so users do not have to wait for the entire series to be finished.

Individual panels can be redrawn, reframed or have their text changed. Text-based editing instructions can be given for an entire page. Finished work can be downloaded as a PDF, CBZ or PNG pages, converted into a webtoon or published on the Higgsfield platform.

Templates and usage costs

The Mangaka Templates library contains stories in romance, fantasy, sci-fi, drama and other genres. Templates can be read as original manga or reworked with the Recreate function. Users can replace characters with reference photos, change the title and describe further modifications in a prompt.

The service runs on Higgsfield credits. The total price depends on the length and number of chapters and on the edits. According to the examples in the source, creating one character or setting costs 4 credits, a 30-page first or additional chapter costs 30 credits, and editing a single page costs 1 credit. Based on the 49-dollar package containing 1000 credits, Higgsfield calculates that these amounts correspond to approximately 0.20, 1.47 and 0.05 dollars, respectively.

Higgsfield recommends that users begin with a clear basic idea, check the characters before creating chapters and use a finished script for greater control. The company also points out that users should upload only scripts and photos they are authorized to use. Mangaka content is subject to safety filters and Higgsfield's terms of use.
