Picsart brings OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.6 to its AI tools

Picsart has made OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.6 available across its AI tools, including the AI Image Generator and AI Playground. The integration offers two forms, Flare for fast iteration and Sunburst for detailed visual work.
- GPT Image 2.6 is now live across Picsart’s AI tools.
- Flare focuses on fast iteration and can generate an image in as little as six seconds at low quality.
- Sunburst targets detailed work with greater consistency across edits.
- The update adds GIF output, SVG export, markup-guided edits and a complexity setting.
- Picsart says GPT Image 2.6 generates images 50% faster than the previous generation.
Two versions target different creative workflows
GPT Image 2.6 was released on November 4, 2026, and Picsart describes it as OpenAI’s most advanced image model yet. Both Flare and Sunburst accept text and image inputs, generate and edit images, and share the same core features.
GPT Image 2.6 Flare is designed for interactive generation and editing. At the low quality setting, it can generate an image in as little as six seconds, according to Picsart. The company also says Flare improves layout quality for posters, product imagery and other professional visuals.
GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst is aimed at detailed compositions and editing workflows that require greater detail and precision. At medium or high quality, Picsart says it provides higher-quality generation and even greater consistency across edits.
Faster generation comes with more editing control
Picsart says GPT Image 2.6 generates images 50% faster than the previous generation. The update also adds a complexity setting, allowing users to choose how much the model plans each scene. Low is intended for quick edits, while medium or high can be used for busier scenes.
The model family is designed to preserve characters, products and brand details across editing rounds. That means a mascot can retain its appearance and a product can keep its shape as an image is revised. Markup-guided edits provide more control by letting users identify the specific area where a change should be made.
Both forms also support animated GIF output and SVG export. GIFs can be used for animated brand mascots, social media reactions, product loops and storyboards. SVG exports are intended for designs that will be used across websites, apps and print.
Both models are available in Picsart now
Picsart is an early launch partner for GPT Image 2.6, so both Flare and Sunburst are live across its AI tools. Users can find them in products including the AI Image Generator and AI Playground.
For users, the choice depends on the task. Flare is positioned for rapid idea generation, interactive editing, posters and product imagery that need clean layouts. Sunburst is intended for detailed visual work and multi-step edits where consistency matters more. Either form can produce animated GIFs, SVG exports and markup-guided edits.
Picsart says the combination of GPT Image 2.6’s speed and its editing tools gives creators more time to experiment, refine details and develop one idea into a social campaign.
