Drip and Sleeknote join the WPBeginner family
Drip is an email and SMS marketing automation platform for small businesses, including content creators and online stores. Its features include a drag and drop email builder, a visual email automation builder, dynamic segmentation, built in SMS marketing and AI MCP.
More than 6,000 brands use Drip, according to the announcement. The company says its customers have earned more than $1.5 billion in revenue attributed to their Drip emails. Drip connects with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Stripe, Magento and custom ecommerce platforms, allowing store data to flow into email marketing.
Sleeknote helps businesses convert website visitors into subscribers and customers through targeted popups, slide ins, sticky bars and other tools. Together, the companies cover customer engagement on websites, in email inboxes and through SMS.
AI connections and product plans
Drip MCP allows business owners to connect AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT directly to their Drip account. The announcement says these connections can be used to analyze results and draft campaigns.
Awesome Motive's in house email marketing team will work with the Drip team on a roadmap that includes more AI powered features and tighter connections with tools such as WPForms and MemberPress. The announcement does not disclose financial terms for the acquisition.
Syed Balkhi, founder of WPBeginner and CEO of Awesome Motive, said: “Email & SMS are the only marketing channels that business owners truly own, and they're even more important in the AI era.” He said the goal was to give small businesses personalization and automation without an enterprise price tag.
Customers are promised no service change
Drip and Sleeknote will remain an independent unit under Møller's leadership, and customers will see no change in service, according to the announcement. Møller said the resources and experience brought by Awesome Motive could help the brands reach more business owners.
The acquisition expands the WPBeginner ecosystem, whose products include OptinMonster, WPForms, MonsterInsights, AIOSEO and MemberPress. More than 30 million websites use the WPBeginner family of products, according to the announcement. Awesome Motive also says its tools are used by more than 30 million websites.
For small businesses, the deal means Drip's email and SMS automation will sit alongside Sleeknote's onsite conversion tools, while planned integrations could connect these products more closely with other business software in the WPBeginner portfolio.
