DigitalOcean launches Cuttlefish iPhone app for managing AI agents

DigitalOcean has introduced Cuttlefish, a native iPhone app that lets users monitor, approve, steer and stop Managed Agents from their phones. The app is designed to keep cloud-based agent sessions moving when a person is away from a desk.
- Cuttlefish is a native iPhone app for DigitalOcean Managed Agents.
- Users can approve, deny, pause, steer and stop agent sessions remotely.
- Managed Agents supports multiple agent harnesses, including Claude Code and Codex CLI.
- Box Mount is in private preview and syncs Box folders with agent workspaces.
- Managed Agents is in Public Preview.
Mobile control for long-running agents
DigitalOcean Managed Agents, which is in Public Preview, runs agent sessions in isolated cloud sandboxes, allowing work to continue after a user closes a laptop. Cuttlefish brings the human oversight part of that workflow to the iPhone.
Users can watch replies, reasoning and tool calls stream in, and receive notifications when a run needs approval, finishes or fails. They can inspect a full command, file path or diff before approving or denying a tool call. According to DigitalOcean, high-risk requests require Face ID or a passcode.
The app also lets users send corrections, pause, resume or stop a session. Messages sent while an agent is working are queued, allowing users to line up another task without waiting for the current one to finish.
Agents, files and shared sessions
Cuttlefish can display websites and documents produced by an agent, and lets users browse workspace files, create checkpoints, and fork or roll back work. It attaches to running servers and presents their content in a format designed for quick viewing.
DigitalOcean says Managed Agents supports the harnesses teams already use, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, OpenHands, Hermes, LangGraph and CrewAI. The company says the service works with the models and 20,000+ tools suited to a team’s work, rather than tying Cuttlefish to one vendor’s agent.
Sessions run in DigitalOcean-hosted microVMs and persist independently of a user’s device. A teammate can join or take over when someone is away, while Cuttlefish shows who is in a session and allows a user to approve, steer or stop a run.
Box Mount connects agents to team files
Alongside Cuttlefish, Box is launching Box Mount in private preview. The feature syncs a Box folder into a Managed Agents environment while retaining Box permissions, version history and audit trail.
In Cuttlefish, users can open Customize > Tools > Box, sign in and select a folder. Agents work on plain files in their workspace, with edits uploaded to Box and changes made in Box appearing in the workspace. Each person syncs with their own Box account, and edits or deletions made by an agent in the synced folder can flow back to Box.
DigitalOcean positions the combination as a way for distributed teams to collaborate on agent-produced work without emailing files or asking which copy is current. To get started, users need a DigitalOcean account, the Cuttlefish app from the App Store and a selected coding agent, including Claude Code, OpenCode or Codex CLI.
