Dynatrace named a Leader in Forrester’s Q4 2026 AIOps evaluation

Dynatrace was recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave: AIOps Platforms, Q4 2026, receiving the highest score in the Current Offering category. The company also received the highest possible score in 16 criteria, including predictive risk forecasting, causal root cause analysis and AI governance.
- Dynatrace was recognized as a Leader in Forrester’s AIOps Platforms, Q4 2026 evaluation.
- It received the highest Current Offering score and the highest possible score in 16 criteria.
- The evaluation emphasizes prevention, causal intelligence and AI governance.
- Dynatrace received top scores for predictive risk forecasting and causal root cause analysis.
- Forrester advises buyers to define when AI agents need human oversight.
Forrester assessment focuses on operational intelligence
Dynatrace said the evaluation reflects a shift in AIOps from alerting toward operational intelligence. That approach connects telemetry with topology, business context, actionable insights and governed action, helping teams decide what to do next.
According to Dynatrace, AIOps platforms are increasingly expected to do more than detect problems, diagnose causes and send reactive notifications. They must assess conditions across interconnected technologies, reason about business impact and help guide decisions.
This matters as organizations operate cloud native architectures, microservices, AI applications, hybrid environments and rapidly changing software landscapes. Dynatrace says these environments have created levels of complexity that can exceed human scale analysis, making trusted decisions more important than access to data alone.
Prevention, context and causal analysis
The Forrester evaluation advises buyers to consider whether an AIOps platform can prevent incidents, rather than only detect them. Dynatrace says prevention depends on combining causal analysis with predictive forecasting, business context, topology awareness and automation.
In the evaluation, Dynatrace received the highest possible score for predictive risk forecasting, real time change impact control, and business event extraction and financial prioritization. The company says these capabilities can help teams identify emerging risks, understand which change introduced them and see which business process could be affected.
Dynatrace also received the highest possible score in causal root cause analysis and dynamic entity topology and temporal graph. The company describes Smartscape as a real time topology graph that maps relationships between AI entities, hosts, services, processes, applications and cloud infrastructure. Together with data in Grail, it provides what Dynatrace calls a shared context for understanding what is happening, what is affected and why.
Governed autonomy is central to the company’s approach
The report also highlights controls for permissions, policies, explainability, auditing, workflows and human oversight as AI agents take a larger role in diagnostics, recommendations and remediation. The source quotes Forrester as saying, “Governance matters more than autonomy”.
Forrester’s guidance is to use a Zero Trust, least agency approach, with organizations deciding which actions agents can execute independently and which require human oversight. Dynatrace says its platform combines deterministic AI with agentic AI for supervised autonomous operations.
Dynatrace received the highest possible score in algorithmic trust and explainability, ModelOps and AI governance, autonomous remediation and orchestration, and autonomous AI SRE and orchestration.
“Customers want to put AI to work across their operations, but they need answers they can trust before they act,” said Steve Tack, Dynatrace Chief Product Officer. Forrester also states that it does not endorse companies, products, brands or services included in its research, and that its opinions may change.
