Hydden Names Former Sysco CISO Charles Tango as Chief Strategy Officer
Hydden has appointed Charles Tango, a three-time chief information security officer with 25 years of experience, as its chief strategy officer. The company says he will shape its product roadmap, technology partnerships and work supporting customer success.

A senior cybersecurity appointment
Tango joins Hydden after leading cybersecurity and risk management programs at large enterprises, advising emerging technology companies and working with venture capital firms. Most recently, he was CISO at Sysco, which the company describes as one of the world's largest foodservice distributors and ranks as No. 55 on the Fortune 500.
Before Sysco, Tango held CISO roles at Altria and Sterling National Bank, now part of Santander. He also held senior leadership positions at Citigroup. Across those roles, Hydden says Tango focused on connecting cybersecurity strategy with business priorities, helping executive teams and boards understand risk and build security programs that support business objectives.
Tango's remit at Hydden
As CSO, Tango will guide Hydden's strategic product direction and roadmap. The company says this work will keep its technology focused on the needs of enterprise security teams.
He will also lead the development of technology partnerships and integrations with established industry leaders and emerging startups. His responsibilities include supporting Hydden's commitment to customer success, while his background as an investor and advisor will add experience from outside traditional corporate security leadership.
Tango works with venture capital firms including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bloccelerate, Lytical Ventures, SYN Ventures and Strategic Cyber Ventures. According to Hydden, he helps founders identify operational gaps, refine business strategies and navigate the challenges of scaling their companies.
Why identity security is central to the role
Hydden describes itself as an identity security platform for the agentic enterprise, built on what it calls an Identity System of Record. Its platform provides a shared data layer intended to unify identity telemetry across an enterprise and give security teams and systems a continuously updated view of human, machine and AI agent identities.
The company says that intelligence can reveal identity risk as it emerges, provide the security operations center with context for understanding and containing threats, and enable access control in Hydden or through security tools that organizations already use. Fortune 500 companies in financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and healthcare use Hydden, according to the company.
Tango said in the announcement that identity is central to many cybersecurity challenges, while enterprises often struggle to develop a complete picture of their identity landscape. His appointment puts that enterprise perspective at the center of Hydden's product strategy, partnership work and effort to help organizations take a more informed approach to identity security.
