- Martus says it supports more than 1,400 customers.
A six phase framework for budget season
Budget Navigator organizes the budget cycle into six phases, covering preparation, approval, reporting and ongoing budget management. It gives finance administrators actionable steps, due dates and links to Martus help articles, creating a working timeline for moving the process forward.
Administrators can add custom tasks, track completion and reset phases. Martus says the framework is designed for finance leaders running their first budget cycle, organizations moving away from spreadsheets and teams coordinating contributions from department heads and program leaders.
Client accounting services firms and value added resellers can also use the framework to guide their clients through budget cycles. Budget Navigator is currently available to customer administrators and partner users.
Free playbook connects education with platform work
The Martus Budgeting Playbook is a free learning path available to anyone, including people who do not use Martus. It explains the decisions, sequence, habits and common mistakes involved in an effective budget cycle.
Navigator connects that educational material to the work inside the Martus platform. The company says the combination is intended to help finance teams understand both what needs to happen during budget season and where to complete related tasks in the software.
“Finance leaders shouldn't have to build the budget, teach the process and answer every software question on their own,” Taylor Macdonald, CEO of Martus Solutions, said in the announcement. “We're connecting practical budgeting guidance with the work customers do in Martus, so they can spend less time explaining the next step and more time helping their organizations make informed decisions.”
Martus expands financial and software assistance
Martus Intelligence now supports natural language questions about budgets, forecasts and financial performance, as well as questions about how to complete work on the platform. That gives finance teams supporting colleagues outside finance another way to find help while working with budgets.
Martus is also launching an MCP connector, described as “Bring Your Own AI,” for customers. Using Model Context Protocol, the connector links Martus data with customer preferred AI tools, such as Claude, so teams can analyze budget and forecast information alongside data from other systems.
The updates build on more than 135 product enhancements since mid May 2026 and Martus' work supporting more than 1,400 customers. The Budgeting Playbook is available on the company's website, while Martus provides details about Martus Intelligence and data handling on its security and trust page.
