Seso's relaunched platform uses AI features to automate administration for agricultural workforce management in the United States. The Rootly assistant answers questions, creates reports and, with approval, can update employee records.

Key points
  • Seso has launched new AI features for agricultural workforce management in the United States.
  • Rootly answers questions, creates reports and modifies data after approval.
  • Magic Folder organizes documents and matches them to employees.
  • The I-9 Audit Agent searches for discrepancies among employee documents.
  • The features are available in early access, with some in beta.

Workforce management brought onto one platform

Seso announced its relaunched platform on November 3, bringing recruitment, employee onboarding, payroll and H-2A visa compliance together in one place. According to the company, the routine tasks behind these processes can run in the background, including submitting documents, checking I-9 forms and sending reminders.

Seso says it is the largest H-2A agency in the United States, based on Department of Labor data, and also operates one of the largest payroll platforms in American agriculture. The company primarily addresses the problem that farm offices often operate with small teams while paperwork volumes increase during harvest season.

Rootly answers questions and makes changes with approval

The system's central element is an AI assistant called Rootly. For example, users can ask how many H-2A workers are covered by a contract. Rootly answers using the employer's records and also cites the relevant records or regulations behind the result.

The assistant can explain H-2A, I-9 and E-Verify requirements, create a report or export, and draft a workflow based on a short description. It can also perform certain actions, such as changing an employee's phone number, assigning workers to housing or editing an H-2A contract.

Changes appear as approval cards, and nothing is saved until the user approves it. Rootly has the same permissions as the person using it, and it does not display Social Security numbers, passport numbers or other identification numbers in the conversation.

Documents and recurring tasks

The new package includes Magic Folder, which allows multiple employee documents to be uploaded at once. Seso sorts the documents by type, matches them to the appropriate worker and holds them for review before saving.

The I-9 Audit Agent compares I-9 forms on file with an employee's profile, passport, I-94 document and Social Security card, then lists discrepancies requiring correction. With the Workflows feature, employers can configure recurring steps once. When a specified event occurs in Seso, the system automatically sends the related email, task or reminder.

CEO Michael Guirguis said the company built these tools so that small office teams could work like larger teams, while larger farms could operate as if they had hired ten new employees. According to Seso, the new features run on the same system customers have previously used for visa processing, onboarding and payroll.

Features available in early access

Rootly and the new AI features are available to every Seso customer in early access, with some features in beta. The company plans to add more agents during 2027 to help with work related to H-2A filings, food safety compliance, day-to-day HR tasks and farm business operations.

For farm users, the announcement means that more administrative work can be handled on the same platform, partly automatically. Seso says the goal is to help office teams spend less time searching for records and correcting paperwork, while changes remain subject to user approval.
