Greenzie says commercial mowers powered by its autonomy platform have surpassed 255,000 cumulative autonomous mowing miles, a distance exceeding the average journey from Earth to the Moon. The equipment has also covered more than 9 billion square feet across more than 200 commercial customers, 45 U.S. states and four countries.

Key points
  • Greenzie says its platform has surpassed 255,000 autonomous mowing miles.
  • The equipment has covered more than 9 billion square feet.
  • Deployments span more than 200 customers, 45 U.S. states and four countries.
  • Greenzie works with Wright Manufacturing, Mean Green, Greenworks Commercial and Bobcat.
  • Its adoption program covers deployment preparation, operator onboarding and results measurement.

A milestone built on commercial deployments

The Atlanta-based company said the milestone reflects years of commercial deployment rather than a single demonstration. Greenzie-powered equipment has accumulated more than 65,000 equivalent operator days of autonomous mowing, with commercial field deployments dating to 2021.

Greenzie said its platform enables commercial mowing equipment to navigate and operate autonomously while supporting crews as they manage labor availability and productivity. The company was founded in 2018 and describes itself as a technology platform for commercial autonomy across multiple equipment manufacturers.

“We mowed to the moon, but the real achievement is the commercial experience behind those miles,” said Charles Brian Quinn, Greenzie’s co-founder and CEO. He said the equipment has worked on real properties with commercial crews, and that this experience has shaped the company’s technology, OEM partnerships and approach to customer integration.

Greenzie works with several equipment makers

Wright Manufacturing has been a longstanding Greenzie partner in commercial autonomous mowing. The Wright Autonomous Stander ZK, equipped with Greenzie Powered Autonomy, is being used by commercial landscape contractors to put autonomous mowing into operation.

Greenzie also maintains OEM relationships with Mean Green Electric Mowers, Greenworks Commercial and Bobcat. The company supplies autonomy technology and integration expertise, while its OEM partners develop and manufacture the equipment delivered to customers.

“Wright and Greenzie have worked closely to bring autonomous mowing into real commercial operations,” said Ed Wright, CEO of Wright Manufacturing. He said the milestone reflects the work of the companies’ teams, dealers and customers.

A structured approach to adopting autonomy

Greenzie said its field experience informs the Greenzie Powered Autonomy Adoption Program. The program covers evaluating suitable properties, preparing for deployment, onboarding operators, measuring results and expanding autonomous operations.

“Successful autonomy requires more than capable technology,” said Steve Bush, Greenzie’s chief operating officer. He said customers also need to understand where autonomy fits into their operations, prepare their crews and measure success.

For customers and manufacturers, the announcement positions accumulated field experience as a central part of Greenzie’s offering. Quinn said the company’s focus is to build on that experience, help more manufacturers bring autonomy to market and make adoption possible for more commercial operators. Greenzie Powered Autonomy operates across hundreds of machines in active service, according to the company.
